History of Roulette

The roulette originated in France. It was invented by the French mathematician Blaise Pascal, who built the roulette wheel. Initially, his goal was to devise a mechanism that would help recreate chance in probability.

The roulette wheel found its application very quickly in fun and games, and in the eighteenth century it functioned on principles similar to modern ones. Louis XVI introduced roulette to clubs such as "Palais Ro-yal" or "Palais Frascati".

When, in 1837, cultivation was banned in France gamblingh roulette emigrated to neighboring countries and from there to the whole world. In the USA, she initially gained recognition in New Orleans, her supporters kept growing, and finally the whole country got to know her. Today she is known everywhere and appreciated everywhere elegant style.

Roulette Game Rules

To play roulette you need a special table that is divided into two parts: a wheel and a platform with numbered fields in two colors: black and red.
There are two types of roulette - European and American. In European roulette, there are spaces on the wheel and on the platform with numbers from 1 to 36 and a field with zero. In American roulette, there is also a field with double zero. Zeros with zeros are green.

The game starts with the players placing their bets. Players can both bet on individual numbers and zeros, and they can place their bets on lines, columns, dozens, first five numbers, even or odd numbers, numbers 1 to 18 and 19 to 36, or red or black.

Is that all there is? Playing roulette would be too simple and would probably get bored quickly if not for the fact that you can bet in it internal bets. These have a small chance of winning, but they multiply the bet considerably. Even though the risk is high, it's worth it! So you can bet on single numbers:

  • One number so-called (straight up)
  • Two numbers (split bet)
  • Three numbers (street bet)
  • Four numbers (corner bet)
  • Five Bet: the first five numbers (0, 00, 1,2,3)
  • Six line bet (6 digits per line)

After the bets are accepted, the roulette wheel is set in motion and the croupier throws the ball in the opposite direction of the wheel. Then it is no longer possible to change the bet. Players are also not allowed to touch or move chips. The drawn number is read out after the wheel stops. The game is won by the players who bet on the drawn number, color, line or column. If the bet is missed then the player loses the entire amount of bets.

If you play roulette in a land-based casino, you are also completely prohibited from using mobile phones or other electronic devices. The roulette table itself may only contain chips, cigarettes, or any drinks that have been purchased at the casino.
The loss calculation is a bit more complicated. If the ball lands in the zero field, all players who bet on straight chances, ie colors, even or odd numbers, high or low numbers, lose the entire bet. When betting on columns or dozens, players only lose half of their bets.

European and American roulette

European and American roulette differ from each other not only in the number of zeros on the wheel, but also in the number of croupiers present in the game. In American roulette, the game is played by only one dealer who performs all actions with his hands. In the case of European roulette, the game supports as many as three croupiers:

dealer dealer - the main leader of the game;
chipper dealer - stacks up your chips and pays out winnings;
dealer inspector - supervises the game without taking part in it.

Although the other rules of the game are the same in both versions, it is also worth knowing that in American roulette, due to the presence of two zeros, the probability of winning is lower.

When it comes to playing roulette, you have three options to choose from: playing in a land-based casino, playing online casino, where you have the opportunity to play with a live dealer, play roulette without the presence of a dealer. In the latter variant, the player plays alone against the game mechanism.

There is something mysterious about playing roulette. Since its inception, attempts have been made to work out the roulette wheel mechanism in order to cheat the game and predict on which field the ball will fall. The sum of all the numbers in roulette gives you the number 666, which is considered to be devilish. Such attempts to decipher the wheel are referred to as roulette systems.

How to play roulette? Game strategy

We will start the roulette strategy by discussing the chances of roulette. This varies depending on whether we are playing French or European roulette and the type of bet placed. We remind you that American roulette has two zeros, so the advantage of the mad player is 5.26%. That's a lot, because for French roulette with one zero, the casino profit is only 2.7%, so it's not difficult to guess which type of roulette players like to play the most.

There are bets in roulette where the percentage of winning is as high as 50%. We mean Black / Red, Even / Odd opposing bets. If you play roulette in an online casino, you may very often encounter a ban on using such bets while playing with an active bonus. A fairly high chance of a player's victory means that online casinos exclude this type of bets from the promotion. On the other hand, when betting on a straight number, the probability of winning is 1/37 or 1/38 (as many as numbers in roulette).

So what's the deal with roulette systems? You've probably heard of them more than once, but you probably still don't know what to do to win at roulette. Playing roulette is one hundred percent a game of chance and you cannot predict the result that will appear after the spin ends. No roulette strategy will win you. It can only increase its mathematical probability. There are three known roulette strategies. Here they are:

1. Martingale system

This method involves doubling your bet with each loss. For example: If your just lost bet was € 2, you bet € 4 on the next round. This roulette strategy involves the risk of losing money rapidly, or if you play for a high stake you will reach the maximum stake allowed in the casino.

2. The Martinez system

This strategy involves betting the same number on the roulette wheel 35 times and it results from the belief that the number chosen by you will win. This strategy is also not very effective.

3. Probability testing

The third strategy is to place a selected group of bets and test them. We place bets on numbers belonging to one column, dozens, or lines, etc. Then we do a test consisting of placing 5 spins of the roulette wheel. Each group of plants is assigned one letter of the alphabet. For example, if in the test series the following results are: A, A, C, C, A, where A is the bets from the column, and C is bets on the numbers from the same line, we continue the game by betting only on the numbers from these groups.
